Anchorage, Alaska issues RFP seeking bids for citywide wireless network

The city of Anchorage, Alaska has just issued an RFP for companies to submit their proposals on the development and deployment of a citywide wireless network.

Responses are due on January 18, and it will be interesting to see which companies will jump into the fray. Plans call for the downtown area to be hooked up first by the summer, and then coverage will be phased in for other parts of the city.
