With MySpace.com continuing to be an attraction to teens and twenty-somethings nationwide, the service in its wireless glory will be coming to Cingular Wireless phones soon, according to the nation's largest mobile carrier. For an additional $2.99 a month, customers will be able to upload photos taken on cell phones, read and respond to MySpace e-mail, update blog entries and view and search for friends from their handsets. All on a slower-than-molasses EDGE network.
After seeing how EDGE performs in action, MySpace.com probably won't be useful until Cingular's HSDPA network is rolled out nationwide. EDGE just won't cut it -- especially for those that have grown up with broadband. But, it makes for a nice, media-numbing press release, yes?
