Marvell Technology, the up-n-coming chip company ran by a husband and wife team, has completed the purchase of Intel's handheld processor and embedded wireless technology chip business as of yesterday.Exactly what did Marvell buy from Intel -- the world's largest chipmaker? Marvell paid $600 million last June for the Intel handheld processor business which designs communications and application processors for handheld devices using its XScale technology.
Intel's XScale processors are used in handsets such as Research In Motion's BlackBerry 8700 and the Motorola Q in addition to processors used in hundreds of thousands of PDAs like the Dell Axim and HP iPaq.
