There are quite a few large telecom conglomerates in Europe these days, and the entire market may be ripe for consolidation soon, stated chief executives of two of Europe's leading telecom companies this past week.Speaking at a conference in London, Andy Green CEO of BT Group's Global Services unit said there is a lot of logic in further consolidation of the European telecoms market but regulatory obstacles could stand in the way.
With larger wireless carriers like O2, 3, Orange and Vodafone all vying for the same customers now, the CEO of O2 even said that "there's a lot of talk about consolidation in Europe and in the UK, if you look at the mobile phone industry, you could put forward a strong case."
