Instead of just using your phone's WAP browser to access your Google Gmail account, the company yesterday released a new downloadable J2ME application that works on over 300 phone models just in the U.S. (according to Google).I downloaded this app this morning and I have to say it's probably the best non-Palm or non-RIM email client for any cellphone with Java technology -- as long as you're a user of Gmail. This new app really streamlines using Gmail and makes the mobile appearance almost identical to the web-browser usage of Gmail, which is fantastic.
Although I'll still have m.gmail.com bookmarked for mobile Gmail usage, this new app on my phone is probably going to be my preferred way to access Gmail from this point forward. Get it here on your phone's browser: www.gmail.com/app
