We all know that YouTube doesn't need any more publicity. The website has been an incredible phenomenon over the past year, and Google just bought it for $1.65 billion, so this thing is certainly a big deal.
Anyway, YouTube announced that it will be launching a service targeted at wireless devices in 2007. The company says that since a large number of videos featured on the website are captured by cellphones, a new service would likely allow users to share their videos with others directly through their cellphones.
Although I've never been a major proponent of mobile video, this idea might find a sizable audience just for the concept of people sharing videos with each other via their cellphones. Think of it as text messaging with videos.
