If you're a city leader or engineering head and your city is thinking of bidding out a citywide WiFi network, you might want to check with the FTC, which has issued a semi-warning to cities thinking of installing a municipal WiFi network.
The warning basically tells leaders and citywide WiFi proponents to carefully check city and state laws that could throw a monkey wrench into municipal WiFi installations. The
FTC is just warning here that cities would be wise to manage their approaches on political issues involved with installing a WiFi network across an entire city. Hmm, somehow that goes without saying.
