New MVNO to focus in on Chinese-Americans

Offering cheap calls from the U.S. to Asia and a Motorola RAZR handset, yet another MVNO is making waves today, as Red Pocket Mobile launched today by advertising in Chinese-language periodicals, newspapers and magazines in an attempt to go after another demogrphics in what has become MVNO craziness here in the U.S.

This attempt, though, looks like a legitimate attempt at an actual, quantifiable demographic -- the Chinese population in the U.S. Discounted calls to Asia are the value-add here, since the handsets -- no matter how many colors they come in and what differentiated functions there are -- are still handsets. The Red Pocket Mobile RAZRs do have Chinese -language menus, however.
