In an effort that should have started five years ago (or perhaps longer than that), worldwide global handset leader Nokia is attempting to reduce the damaging environmental impact of the various processed used to make mobile handsets, from manufacturing to packaging to disposal. With hundreds of millions of cellphones shipping each and every year -- and with Nokia leading that charge -- it should be doing this.Motorola has also stepped up its efforts to make green amends, and will reduce the use of processes and chemicals used to manufacture its phones. This is impactful so that when handsets are disposed of, dangerous chemicals will not leak into the environment where untold damage can occur.

1. this is great! finally, a giant like Nokia is optimizing its production for ecological needs _by_its_own_will_! :applause:
