It never ceases to amaze me how multi-billion dollar companies can't extensively text all aspects of the software and hardware on wireless handsets before being released for sale to carriers and end customers. Generally, RIM does not fall into that trap, as it seems to have a fine grasp on how customers use its phones and operate its hardware.Not so with the case of the just-released BlackBerry Pearl on T-Mobile here in the U.S., as our friends at Engadget Mobile have learned. Apparently, just a slight nudge on the new trackball on the Pearl while the unit is ringing can silence the ring completely, even with the keylock on. Since almost nobody carries their phones in a pocket or purse these days, this may not be a large problem. Wait, reverse that last statement please.
