Sprint Nextel, which already features streaming Sirius radio over its 1xRTT and EV-DO handsets, has just added the "Sprint Radio Service", which streams over 50 channels of audio and video to properly-equipped Sprint handsets. Here's what's interesting -- 50 channels, with audio and video both being available, for $5.95 per month? That almost sounds too good to be true. I've said before that mobile multimedia, at this time, does not justify the higher price for the limited content, but that can lead into the range of $20 per month regardless.
This new offering sounds like a winner, so maybe I'll stop at a Sprint store soon and check it out. Another interesting nugget -- the service will be available to Sprint Vision, Sprint Power Vision and even Nextel handsets simultaneously. Interesting stuff.

1. Several music labels are connected to the service, including EMI Music, Sony BMG Music Entertainment, Warner Music Group and Universal Music Group.
