Tropos Networks, the maker of citywide WiFi equipment and infrastructure, has announced
new MetroMesh wireless routers that will increase the bandwidth capacity of citywide wireless networks. With more cities coming on board these days with WiFi networks meant for private and public use, bandwidth will be key -- consumers will want lots of it.
The new MetroMesh wireless routers and new versions of the MetroMesh operating system will allow citywide WiFi admninistrators to shift to the 5GHz band and back to the more popular 2.4GHz band should 5GHz RF propagation be an issue.
