LG Electronics, a growing-in-popularity wireless handset maker here in the U.S. and globally, has said it will use TI's OMAP platform for newer, feature rich handsets, according to both companies.LG, which makes the Sprint Fusic and Verizon Chocolate feature-rich phones, wants to move advanced functionality from smartphones into feature-rich phones, something many consumers are clamoring for. Having used a Fusic for a few days, it is probably one of the most feature-rich phones I've seen to date -- but it was not complicated by smartphone features normal consumers won't use. So, LG has the right idea here.
