Pennsylvania's Cambria County says it will soon conduct a study to determine if a wireless network would prove effective in the area.
According to county officials, a wireless network would be leveraged for applications such as wireless 911 as well as giving businesses the opportunity to conduct videoconferences. Of course, let's not forget that regular ordinary citizens will be able to access the network as well.
The nearly $100,000 study will be paid for by cellphone surcharges. The study is expected to take up to six months to complete. Once the findings are analyzed, it is then up to county officials to decide if the project will move forward or not.
