With the FCC advanced wireless services (AWS) auctions underway, the first day's big winner was T-Mobile USA, as it dominated the first round of bidding. With T-Mobile wanting to apparently aggressively expand its national coverage and bandwidth footprint, the company was bidding like mad on the first day.With T-Mobile making half of the highest bids so far, it has placed bid in all six regions of the country for slices of 25MHz spectrum in addition to many other bids to expand bigger markets it already services.
