Yet again, the Apple iPhone rumor surfaces

With recent comments from both RIM and Apple continuing to fan the flames, once again a rumor of an Apple-designed "iPhone" is floating around the globe. With Apple's CFO saying that the company "is very excited about what is in the pipeline" when asked by an analyst about Sony Ericsson's success with its Walkman phones, this give a hint of what's under the hood I think.

Will Apple build its own music-playing phone outside of the iTunes-capable Motorola units that have miserably failed so far? At some point, they would be silly not to. But, with the tight control Apple likes to have over its products and consumer experience, it will not use a partner for the device most likely, except for possible distribution. However, I get hungry just thinking of the word "AppleBerry". Mmm.
