Mario Gabelli, the infamous wireless fraud money manager who has made a semi-career bidding and reselling wireless licenses, is to be banned from the upcoming FCC advanced wireless services auctions if FCC member Jonathan Adelstein has his way.
Gabelli has hidden ultimate control of bidding DEs (
designated entities) in FCC auctions before as a means to resell the spectrum that his DEs win and making huge profits in the process. While the FCC auction process is not a hedge fund, Gabelli apparently thinks it is.
