With enough MVNOs in the U.S. to give every citizen some kind of custom-targeted wireless service, MTV has said that it has no plans to launch a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) service offering. With Amp'd Mobile, Helio and Virgin Mobile already inhabiting the space that an MTV MVNO would target, this makes sense I think.MTV, instead, wants to make its content available as mobile-specialized content to as many carriers as possible -- and this makes perfect sense. In fact, this is probably the smartest decision by a major brand in the U.S. dealing with the mobile space that I have seen in some time. With the networks finally being fast enough for more in-depth multimedia content, watch for MTV services on your handset's menu soon.
