When RIM's co-CEO starts warning the industry about unlimited wireless data plans, you know something's not right in the universe of mobility. Several skeptics have concluded that allowing customers to freely use data all day, every day (for a flat fee) could choke bandwidth-starved mobile networks.
Co-CEO of RIM Mike Lazardis makes a very good point in this article that the bandwidth of voice and even the simplest of data applications is not really comparable -- data apps take much more bandwidth per month than voice calls. So, who knows if we'll see a re-engineering of data access plans as newer 3G services become mainstream soon.
