We've said it before -- for mobile television to take off, there must be a unified standard and the cost must be priced right. Looking at the current situation, we're not even close. With MediaFLO and DVB-H standing out as the two standards, and will many mobile television standards sitting around waiting for business, when will the industry get it together and make things easier than this? This quote from the below article is rather intriguing: "Mobile phone carriers are seeing enough interest in taking television on the go that they're considering a variety of ways to deliver sports highlights or comedy routines to phones." How are mobile carriers "seeing enough interest"? That phrase is highly suspect if it's not qualified with information. Sure, mobile television can be a great value-added service -- if the industry can just get it right.
