Instead of using RFID to track high-dollar
paintings - so Thomas Crown won't steal them - many
artists are using RFID an a rather interesting way - to provide their masterpieces with a unique identity all their own.
RFID without personal privacy implications - a great concept and a great use for the rather controversial public usage
of RFID.Say you visit an art gallery, any art gallery. You check out an RFID scanner, and as you peruse the incredible art pieces on display, your reader picks up the complete history of the piece (artist, conception history, techniques used, price, and other details) and displays it to you. You can print off this piece with a small snapshot of the actual painting when leaving the gallery for future perusal and use. Wow - this would be a boon to artists everywhere. Think sculptures, architectural museums, etc.
Leave it to the artists of the world to make RFID technology usage an "art form". Really inspiring.

1. Wow! What a great idea. I always love it when people come up with creative ways to use current technology. Major props to the artists who are implementing this. Maybe this will help push RFID in a more positive light.
